YOUR SEARCH FOR CRUELTY-FREE FACE WASH IS OVER

We stand by being cruelty-free and believe it is needless to conduct animal testing when creating products. To our surprise, some of the top makeup and skincare brands aren’t cruelty free. Still, it doesn’t mean you can’t acquire cruelty-free makeup and skincare.

At CLE Cosmetics, our entire product line is cruelty-free and vegan, such as our face wash, Oxygen Foam CleanserOxygen Foam Cleanser is a self-foaming cleanser with an additional function of a deep cleansing flash mask. Although we believe it’s unnecessary to test on animals, we do believe it’s essential to cleanse your skin every day.

Cruelty-Free & Vegan
When you search for cruelty-free and vegan products, the rule of thumb is to look for animal derived ingredients such as lanolin, glycerin, squalene and oleic acid. Though ingredients such as squalene or glycerin do have vegan alternatives that are synthetic or plant based.
For example, with our cruelty-free face wash, you’ll notice glycerin is a part of our ingredients, but we use Coconut oil as the source, or another vegan source.
Cruelty-free ingredients are not just vegan; they are much gentler on the skin. We also do not use parabens or heavy oils to create our cruelty-free face wash or any of our makeup and skincare products.

No Reason To Test On Animals
A case could be made stating it’s important to ensure makeup ingredients are safe, which is why some companies test on animals, such as rats, mice, rabbits, and even dogs. Though, the ingredients found in most makeup and skincare products have been around and in use for decades. They’ve already been tested on both humans and other animals. It’s unnecessary.

Truth About Animal Testing
Animal testing is now illegal for products produced in the United States and the European Union, but is not the case for products made in China. Until a few weeks ago, all domestically produced and imported cosmetics were required to undergo animal testing. Meaning, any company importing cosmetics and skincare to China had to test their products on animals in order to sell their products. While the products were not tested on animals in the United States or EU, once they were imported into China, a Chinese lab would test the products on animals.

Good news! The Chinese government recently decided post-market animal testing is no longer required. It doesn’t necessarily mean all animal testing will stop, but it’s a big step forward…
