Taking time to thoroughly care for your skin is one of the best ways to improve the appearance of your skin. It’s best to take as much time as you do with makeup (for example, 30 minutes) to take care of your skin. Too often, we cover up with cosmetics, smoothing over discolorations and fine lines without really addressing the factors creating these issues in the first place.
Sun Damage
Overexposure in the sun can dry and age our skin while increasing the production of free radicals. We have an anti-aging treatment, Vitamin C Elixir, to shield your skin from free radicals and oxidative stress caused by residual environmental effects. In addition to the treatment, the use of our Lifting Set boosts hydration to replenish dry skin and counteracts the effects of aging by stimulating natural collagen production with three types of collagen: acacia collagen, nattō gum collagen, and marine collagen.
To prevent damage from the sun, it’s imperative to protect your skin really well throughout the day. We recommend using broad spectrum sunscreen or foundation with sunscreen. At CLE, we have 2 foundations containing broad-spectrum SPF 50, CCC Cream.
Dehydration
Dehydration has a negative impact on our skin, as well as our entire body. It’s vital to stay hydrated, especially during the summer when we tend to dehydrate more than usual. When we aren’t properly hydrated, our body isn’t functioning as it should; this can cause irritability, headaches, and kidney damage if it becomes severe enough.
It can also lead to our skin to lose some of its natural elasticity. If you’ve noticed your skin is looking dull and flaky or itchy patches, it could be due to dehydration or dry skin in general. Using a mask pack once or twice each week can definitely help alleviate the dryness. We recommend a daily skincare regimen including a cleanser, toner and deep moisturizing agent.
Reducing your intake of caffeine (and alcohol) and drinking more water can be a huge help. Skip that third cup of java and enjoy a glass of water instead! Your face will thank you.
